डोई बोडून केली खोडी I
काया वागविली बापुड़ी II
ऐसा नव्हे तो सन्यास I
विषय देखोनि उदास II
मांजराचे गेले डोळे I
उंदीर देखोनि तळमळे II
वेश्या झाली पाटाची राणी I
तिला मागील करणी II
नामा म्हणे वेष पालटे I
परी अंतरीचे ओशाळपण न तुटे II

It says ,
" There are few who brag of renunciation but  their pursuit of gratification is never ending. Talking of such pseudo beings , Saint Namdev says ,
One cannot become Hermit by making apparent bodily changes such as cutting hair or subjecting body to penance. Sheer distaste for sensual pleasures  needs to be instilled from within.
Saint Namdev has given beautiful analogies to this thought. He says ,
A blind cat when senses presence of mouse in the vicinity regrets it's inability to catch the mouse.
A prostitute becomes a queen  by sheer luck. But she keeps on reminiscing of her lascivious past.
Similarly mere assuming the attire of Hermit , One does not become a Hermit. This is because the cravings of sensual desires has its roots deeply embedded within. "
