चौर्यान्शी लक्ष जन्म हिंडता I
घोंगड़े अनंता जर्जर जाले II
जेथे जाय तेथे तुटचि पड़े I
मुद्दल न घड़े काय करू II
संचित आटले व्यवसाय खूंटले I
म्हणोनि ठाकिले द्वार तुझे II
नामा म्हणे विसावा जरी होसी जाणता I
तरी या बोला उचिता प्रेम देई II

It says,
" Saint Namdev says ,
It is believed that the Soul follows tortuous course of 8.4 million species to assume a human birth. This journey has its own toll so much so that the ragged bodily quilt  becomes threadbare. The virtue earned in the past lives  remains almost residual  . Thus the aspiration of attaining Oneness with the Supreme Self appears to be unlikely. The only way is complete surrender to Lord Supreme and to beg of his mercy.
Saint Namdev has drawn beautiful analogy. He says ,
Bearing the quilt , the shepherd roams around the field . Over the period of time , the age old quilt tatters. Slowly its utility is lost. However buying a new quilt is difficult as he is short of money. He is then compelled to go to moneylender.

Summing Up Saint Namdev says ,
The way an age old cloth is replaced by new one , similarly the Soul departs from worn out body to assume the new one .
Saint Namdev has thus illuminated the similarity of body and the quilt of shepherd. "
